School Library Journal
PreS-K-- A British import that translates well for American preschoolers. A typical day is shown through the activities of 13 multiracial children pictured and named on the endpapers. Each double-page spread has a one-line caption that serves as the text, with clear, lowercase labels naming objects depicted. A young boy being met by a teacher waves goodbye to his mother and baby sister, while his classmates remove boots and hang coats on labeled hooks. Individuals can be followed through cheerful scenes on the playground; in the home corner; using the bathroom (``I need help with my buttons''); with stories, music, snacks; and going home--no naps, though one child appears to snooze in two pictures. A reassuring, useful introduction to the experience, told in easy-to-read vocabulary. --Ruth M. McConnell, San Antonio Pub . Lib .Book Details
