Overview

Presto -- itÆs Magic Screen Books, where making mistakes is part of the learning fun! This brand-new series features spiral-bound, interactive books that are really two books in one. The top half of the split-front cover is a 16-page full-color book filled with easy activities that introduce preschoolers to the early-learning concepts of letters, numbers, shapes, and oÆclock time. The bottom half is a sturdy, neon-colored vinyl screen. Use the plastic pen to write your answers on the magic screen. Then lift the screen to make the writing disappearùand try, try again! With a clock face printed right under the magic screen, even very young children can learn to tell what oÆclock it is. Sally Hewitt lives in England. Alex Ayliffe lives in England.

Children's Literature - Joyce Rice

Children will have fun learning to tell time in this book as they read and then show their skills by drawing on a clock face. Reminiscent of the cardboard gray slates of an earlier time, children can draw on their clock, then lift the cover sheet and all their work disappears, presenting them with a clean clock face. The top portion of the 9x12 book is a sixteen-page booklet that presents time facts, activities and questions for making learning fun. The bottom portion of the book holds the clock face and pen for completing the activities. This is an excellent tool for parents to use to reinforce these skills. It is reasonable to believe that young children still need to learn these basic skills, although many of them will read digital clocks for most of their lives. This title is recommended for family, classroom, and library collections. Other titles in this series teach numbers, shapes, and the alphabet.
