Inspired by elements of 18th- and 19th-century home fashions, Pearson (The Complete Needlepoint Course, Chilton, 1991) offers step-by-step instructions for 20 projects that include cushions, pictures and samplers, rugs, and other decorative items. The historical references of the designs and projects are explained, and finished pieces are photographed in attractive settings. Some of the color-coded stitch charts are difficult to discern, particularly where thez colors are closely shaded. While the projects are graded according to level of expertise, the ones rated easy are not, and most are intended for the intermediate to advanced needleworker. For libraries serving experienced needlepointers seeking traditional patterns.JYLBook Details
