Neorealism Versus Strategic Culture

Representing a new generation of analysts that came of academic age after the end of the Cold War when the dynamics of the emerging international environment were unknown, members of a study group that began meeting in 1998 at the University of Southampton address a number of theoretical and empirical issues related to explaining the outcome of strategic policy. The main question of the current debate is whether culture can or cannot provide researches with more explanatory potential than realist theorizing.
