Features:The book features 558 pages divided into four parts with a total 21 chapters. Part 1 includes such topics as basic mechanisms in prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal neurodevelopmental processes with important chapters on neurobehavioral teratology and neurodevelopmental aspects of schizophrenia. Part 2 reviews animal models of developmental psychopathology. Part 3 covers genetic and environmental influences on brain development and the implications for psychopathology. Each chapter contains relevant and timely references and the index section is very user friendly.
Assessment:This is a very interesting and valuable new book summarizing the state of research on the neurodevelopmental underpinnings of psychopathology. Any researcher or interested clinician in psychiatry and neurology would broaden their knowledge base by reading this book.
