A well-known and much-published photographer, Stock offers his classic memories of New England in this large-format volume of color images. Faithfully rendered in fine printing are his glimpses from the tourist trail--stately white churches, fall foliage, revolutionary-era graveyards, flowering trees, horse farms, pumpkin harvesting in Berkshire, snow-covered hills in northeast Vermont, lobster docks in Maine, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket's homes, sand dunes, lighthouses, and rocky coasts. Landscapes, close-ups of nature, and architectural details comprise his pristine view. Portraits made by an observer rather than a participant, these photographs reveal a New England devoid of milltowns, cityscapes, poverty, or clutter.
