Overview

Renowned author Tony Hillerman's original essays written for "New Mexico" and "Rio Grande, " plus two new essays, are complemented by the extraordinary images of Muench and Reynolds.

As a result of the numerous requests by consumers and booksellers to reprint the original New Mexico book (1974) by Hillerman and Muench, Graphic Arts Center Publishing has combined the text from that book and a lesser known but equally compelling book, Rio Grande (1975), written by Hillerman and photographed by Robert Reynolds. 50 full-photographs.

About the Author, Tony Hillerman

Tony Hillerman's experience as a journalist and a lover of Native American culture lent an unmistakable authenticity to his mysteries. In addition to his popular series starring Navajo Tribal Police detectives Chee and Leaphorn, he wrote standalone novels, essays about the Southwest, and a warmly reviewed autobiography (Seldom Disappointed) that revealed not only his talent, but his bravery as a soldier in World War II. He died in 2008 at the age of 83.
