About the Author, Michael Yamashita

Award-winning photographer Michael Yamashita has been a contributor to National Geographic for more than twenty-five years. He has published several books with White Star including Marco Polo and Zheng He. He lives in New Jersey. Elizabeth Bibb is a freelance writer and editor. She divides her time between New York City and rural New Jersey.
