Overview

Windows NT is especially suited for users that have come from UNIX backgrounds and expect levels of security, stability and functionality which neither Windows 3.11 or Windows 95 can offer. For environments where connectivity, security and stability are essential, Windows NT provides an ideal solution. This book is a concise guide to using the Windows NT operating system and covers its internals and how it differs from Windows and Windows 95, in its installation and use. The method used in this book is to group like utilities together, so that accessories are handled in one chapter, the administration tools in another, and so on. To provide a broader scope, the penultimate chapter covers the main frequently performed tasks and gives simple answers and pointers on how to perform them. For completeness, and to provide support for version 4.0, chapter 11 describes the new Windows 95 shell that replaces the previous Windows 3.1 interface that is used with version 3.x.
