Synopsis

This new edition of No Cross, No Crown as narrated by Simon Phillips, is an entirely new translation of William Penn's original 2nd edition published in 1682. The English language has undergone tremendous changes over the last 300 years. In addition, even in his own day, Penn's frilly, repetitive style was very difficult for his readers to comprehend. The translators have done their best to preserve the sense of Penn's original meaning within his culture. Sometimes, wherever possible, they were able to retain actual words or phrases that came from his own hand. Penn presents a challenge for those who profess to be Christians by prompting self examination with this soul-searching question: Where am I with Jesus?
