Children's Literature - Dr. Judy Rowen

This is one of those irritating books with a series of buttons on the right side that blare out sounds or tunes when pressed. This one is more annoying than most because the sounds bear little relation to the story. Noah is out hunting animals for the ark, and goes off to find two octopi. First, I don't think the octopi needed a berth on the ark since they are aquatic, and second, the sound they make here is incomprehensible. The storm itself is an orchestral approximation of scurrying clouds that lasts for a prolonged period; a simple thunderclap or sound of rain would have been fine. The verse manages to attribute the entire episode to Noah's efforts alone; the word God never appears. I can't wait until the battery runs out on my copy.
