Library Journal
In such an extensive directory, it is understandably difficult to be consistently creative in describing places and events. However, the Shankses not only overuse ``interesting'' and ``very'' but they write on a condescending and eighth-grade level in the 39-page overview. Though the authors omit Lake Jackson Mounds State Archaeological Site and place a museum in Miami Beach instead of Miami, Florida, for example, they do provide a wealth of information on over 900 places to observe past and/or present Indian culture. Ignore the preaching and use the guidebook as it was intended. Flawed but recommended. Susan Hamburger, Florida State Univ. Lib., TallahasseeBook Details
