Library Journal

No web designer needs to be certified. But this book outlines what web designers should be able to do in terms of tagging, graphics, multimedia, and scripting with Java, JavaScript, and Perl. This "study guide" actually provides lessons supporting three courses (660, 654, and 655) developed by Education by Novell. One small quibble: there is only a half-page discussion of copyright issues. Regardless, many designers will be interested in being certified since it may mean more money and work; nontechies who are hiring webmasters will find this a useful primer to understand their employees' skills.
