About the Author, Michael Krepon

Michael Krepon is the founding president of the Henry L. Stimson Center, a Washington-based think tank, where he directs the Center's South Asia programming. He is the author or editor of Strategic Stalemate, Nuclear Weapons and Arms Control in American Politics (1984); Arms Control in the Reagan Administration (1989); Verification and Compliance, A Problem-Solving Approach (1988); Commercial Observation Satellites and International Security (1990); The Politics of Arms Control Treaty Ratification (1991); Open Skies, Arms Control and Cooperative Security (1992); Crisis Prevention, Confidence Building, and Reconciliation in South Asia (1995); Global Confidence Building: New Tools for Troubled Regions (1999); Space Assurance or Space Dominance, The Case Against Weaponizing Space (2003) and Cooperative Threat Reduction, Missile Defense, and the Nuclear Future(2003). He teaches in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia.
