Children's Literature -
Written for children who are going to nursery school for the first time, this book shows them the fun things that they will have to look forward to when they are there. It begins with a boy getting dressed. He eats breakfast with his father while his mother packs his lunch. At the school, he sees friends and wants to run to join them. The children paint, make something with Play Doh, and play with sand and water. They listen to stories, sing songs, and dress up. At recess they play outside. The illustrations show a diverse group of children, including one in a wheelchair who plays happily along with the other children. At the end of the day he proudly shows his mother the painting he made and asks if he can come back. This book is a part of the "First Time" series and is a Winner of Practical Pre-School Bronze Award 2009. Reviewer: Christine CasselloBook Details
