About the Author, Barbara Bondar, Roberta Bondar

For many years a devoted and innovative teacher and librarian, Barbara Bondar is a specialist in interdisciplinary learning and psycholinguistics. She is the author of over 20 highly praised educational books published in Canada and the United States. She has also written and hosted short educational films for television.

Barbara's sister, Dr. Roberta Bondar, a neurologist and research scientist, became Canada's first female astronaut. A respected academic, Dr. Bondar has co-authored numerous scientific papers and held positions in many institutions of higher learning. In addition to holding degrees in neurology, medicine, neurobiology, experimental pathology and agriculture, she is a qualified private pilot and space flight surgeon.
