Synopsis

The Internet has enabled older adults to participate more actively and equally with the younger generation in accessing the wealth of information available on the World Wide Web. The Internet has also reduced isolation, promoted lifelong learning, and enhanced daily living for seniors.

This book facilitates and expands Internet access and usage by seniors, assists them in finding the information they want and need, and contributes to their knowledge of the aging process and the challenges it presents by providing a list of online resources of particular interest to them. Federal government and general resources for seniors are listed first, followed by resources pertaining to such specific topics as abuse, caregivers, computers and the Internet, death and dying, employment and volunteering, ethnic and racial groups, finances, fraud, genealogy, grandparenting, health care, humor, legal issues, residential option, sexuality, and travel. Also provided is a list of publications of interest to seniors that can be found online.
