About the Author, Josephus Daniels

Josephus Daniels (1862-1948) was an American editor and diplomat.  He served as secretary of the navy under President Woodrow Wilson throughout World War I, and later was appointed ambassador to Mexico by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. His power in the media led him to help Democrats gain control of the government, as well as influence certain laws.
