Synopsis

An unconventional family saga giving voice to the disabled, Out of Place tells the remarkable and moving story of one woman's struggle for independence. Born with a disability in 30s Vienna, Eva evades the horrors of the Nazi euthanasia programme by escaping with a Jewish family friend to England. She arrives in London with a borrowed identity and a trusting nature. After surviving long years in children's hospitals and the heavy blows of family secrets, she begins to forge a place for herself in the world.
