Palm Springs in Vintage Postcards (Postcard History Series)

Palm Springs has been a desert vacation oasis for nearly a century and remains the ultimate posh desert spa in pop culture. Film starts put Palm Springs on the map as a destination for weekend getaways. In the postwar ear, it became a centerpiece for golfers and second home for such Hollywood icons as Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Over the years, postcards portraying Palm Springs have concentrated on its hotels, spas, golf courses, celebrities, and other aspects that have fed the national reputation of the city and its environs as a playground for the rich and famous.

Co-authors and Palm Springs aficionados Judy Artunian and Mike Oldham have gathered 200 vintage postcards to tell the story of this unique community. A freelance writer for 14 years, Judy Artunian is a regular contributor to the Chicago Tribune, and Mike Oldham is the managing partner for a wholesale distributorship. Both are lifelong Southern Californians. The pair previously authored Movie Star Homes: The Famous to the Forgotten.
