This volume provides a state-of-the-art overview of current thinking on parietal lobe functions. It is divided into five sections dealing with the areas of functional anatomy and specific contributions of the parietal lobes to eye movements, reaching and grasping, attention and perception, and the representation of space. In contributions by leading researchers, an overview of the field is given together with recent findings that emphasize their general implications for an understanding of the role of parietal lobe processing. Remarkable in its coverage, this book aims particularly to unite both neurophysiological and neuropsychological approaches.
