About the Author, Romana Capek-Habekovic

Romana Capek-Habekovic is the senior lecturer of Italian and program director of elementary Italian at University of Michigan. She is the author of INSIEME: REVIEW GRAMMAR AND READER FOR SECOND YEAR ITALIAN (1998) and TAPED EXERCISES FOR BASIC AND INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN (McGraw-Hill). Her work focuses on second-language acquisition; strategies in foreign-language learning and teaching; development of listening and comprehension skills; and cross-cultural studies.

Sandra Palaich is lecturer and coordinator of the elementary Italian program at the University of Michigan. In addition to designing and teaching basic language courses, she has developed several courses that bridge the gap between intermediate language courses and upper-level literature courses. She holds an M.A. in Italian Studies from Wayne State University.
