Gr 6-10-Addressing young hobbyists, this broad survey touches on the early history of photography; discusses cameras, lenses, film, and accessories; offers hints on shooting a variety of subjects; and includes a brief description of processing. The diagrammatic sequences are clear, and the ample number of full-color photographs are attractive as well as instructive. Unfortunately, the discussion on the selection of film comes after loading procedures. Wilson suggests several projects such as constructing a family tree or composing a photo story. Libraries that own Roger Gleason's Seeing for Yourself (Chicago Review, 1992) will not need to add this title.-Nancy E. Curran, Decatur Public Schools, ILFrom Barnes & Noble
