Synopsis
This handbook provides information on the many different types of plants used as materials by British Columbia Indians and describes how these plants were employed and by which cultural and linguistic groups. After introductory discussions on the physical environment of B.C., the Indian peoples, and the general use of materials by B.C. Indians, a listing of individual plant species is given with their botanical descriptions, habitats, distributions in the Province, and the ways in which they were employed in native technology.
