Previously only available as a two-volume series, this well-known dictionary contains more than 18,000 terms covering all aspects of plastics, from polymer chemistry and the manufacture of plastics to all areas of plastics technology, testing, properties, and application. The dictionary is an essential tool for chemists and engineers working with plastics and other polymeric materials, and will be especially useful to technical translators and patent attorneys. The alphabetical dictionary presents all technical terms (including abbreviations and acronyms) currently used in the plastics industry and related fields, including adhesives, lacquers and paints, rubber and elastomers, fibers, films, and foams. The reference section systematically groups together all the terms related to each major subfield of plastics and plastics technology. Altogether there are 26 groups, each with corresponding illustrations and technical terms in both English and German.
