The focus of the book is comprised of basic lessons for the modern flute, including correct posture, finger positions, and simple variations of flute pieces. Each page also includes a brief biography of famous flutists and composers, more insight into the history of the flute, or basic information about buying and caring for your own flute. Only one page is devoted to the recorder and other woodwinds, as well as a brief introduction to composers and performers.
