About the Author, Kathleen Staudt

Kathleen Staudt is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for Civic Engagement. She received her PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1976, and joined the UTEP faculty in 1977. Her research interests include border politics and public policy; education, schools, and standardized testing; women and gender in international development and bureaucracy; domestic violence; and civic engagement and education. She is a member of the doctoral faculty for the EdD.
