Synopsis

2 couples: one couple middle class techies retired to a coastal village to indulge their passion for sailing - paid for by smuggling cocaine. The other two a couple of kids from care: she abused, self-harming and pregnant; him inadequate and a thief. A pair of policemen investigate both. A country copper mourns his brother. Who wins?

So starts the adventure of two different couples, the police and others who have an interest in the stolen car and its contents of two gerry cans full of cocaine. Mr. Smith knows how to flesh out his characters to make them believable and to give descriptions of the scenery and towns that has the reader seeing them. This is a book that you'll want to curl up with and read until the very last page.

About the Author, Sam Smith

Now living in Maryport, Cumbria, and working as a freelance writer/editor, Sam Smith has been a psychiatric nurse, residential social worker, milkman, plumber, laboratory analyst, groundsman, sailor, computer operator, scaffolder, gardener, painter & decorator ... working at anything, in fact, which has paid the rent, enabled him to raise his three daughters and which didn't get too much in the way of his writing. With poetry and articles widely published, especially in Britain, he already has 5 poetry collections, 9 novels and a history/biography to his name (see his own website for more details) . He was born in 1946.
