Children's Literature

The Sesame Street characters help pique kids' curiosity about the toilet or potty, as it is called in this book. What is it and what is its purpose? We see the big white porcelain potty and next to it a little red step. Grover looks puzzled and wants to know what his friends know about the potty. Zoe seems to know it all, but she does not tell much. She just tells her parents when it is potty time. Big Bird is not ready yet, but he will let Nani Bird know when he is ready to try the potty (I really liked the potty in the nest, which should give kids a chuckle). Bert is the champ; he remembers to get to the potty in time and also to wash his hands. The big excitement is that Grover has used the potty for the first time and he and the kids get to pull a lever and say "Bye-bye, pee-pee!" A non threatening introduction to the subject of toilet training. Part of the "Sesame Beginnings" series.
