Overview
Poverty Reduction in Mongolia considers the many aspects of poverty in Mongolia - population movements and capabilities, environmental constraints, macroeconomic policy, and governance. It forms the basis of a strategy to counter the economic decline, the growth of poverty and the increasing reliance on foreign aid. At the heart of this strategy is the notion that there need be no conflict between growth and equity. It argues that Mongolia now needs a strong state that is able to guide the transition process, to create new institutions, to introduce economic reforms, to finance public investment and to help those who, despite their best efforts, are unable to help themselves.Book Details
