Overview

Intended to help novices and seasoned pros better understand the construction and use of the process interaction approach to discrete-event simulation using object-oriented modeling and programming, this book details both the fundamentals and implementation aspects of simulation modeling using C++. Analysts, software engineers, and programmers faced with the challenge of developing medium to large complex systems will put this book to work in helping them more efficiently design and test systems and alternative concepts.

Synopsis

Analysts, software engineers, and programmers faced with the challenge of developing medium to large complex systems will use this book to more efficiently design and test systems and alternative concepts. It helps novices as well as seasoned professionals better understand the construction and use of process simulation models using object-oriented modeling and programming. This book details both the fundamentals and implementation aspects of simulation modeling using C++. Rich in case studies, it provides valuable insight into the dynamic behavior of operating systems, computer networks, real-time systems, and other computer-related systems. To assist in conveying critical concepts and to illustrate specific examples, the author includes his recently developed simulation library, Psim, a portable simulation package of C++ classes on diskette.

Booknews

Helps analysts, software engineers, and programmers developing medium to large complex systems design and test systems and alternative concepts more efficiently by explaining the construction and use of process simulation using object-oriented modeling and programming. Details both fundamental and implementation aspects of simulation modeling using the C++ programming language, and offers many case studies to demonstrate the dynamic behavior of operating systems, computer networks, real-time systems, and other computer-related systems. The accompanying 3.5" disk for either DOS or Windows includes a simulation package, case studies, and a language translator for the simulation language. Instructor support is available for use in the classroom. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
