Dr. Tommie J. Matthews, born in Rosebud, Texas, later moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where she was called into the ministry and has been the assistant pastor for Morning Star Church for over thirty years. Currently she serves as director of the Helping Hand Ministries, and director of the Intercessory Prayer Team. She holds doctorate degrees in Christian Education and Religious Philosophy in Christian Counseling. Dr. Matthews has traveled abroad for mission works in Haiti and Lusaka, Zambia. In Zambia, she served on the president’s Emergency Team for Aids Relief. Dr. Matthews is widowed with two children and two grandchildren.
