Ministers Stevenson (Baptist) and Wright (Anglican) were inspired for this book when they both were teaching homiletics at Spurgeon's College in London. The explore a variety of ways in which the Christian doctrine of the atonement—God's act of becoming one with humanity in Christ—may be presented in preaching today.
