Synopsis

Bring math to life in the classroom with Body Math, Art Math and more!

Children's Literature

This book is aimed at preschool teachers and homeschooling parents interested in giving their students a firm basis in real world experiences on which to build mathematical concepts. The book itself is prepared and organized with careful attention to national standards for early mathematics education, yet the activities are designed to be fun and to lend themselves to teachable moments. Each activity has all the makings of a lesson plan, including mathematical concepts, vocabulary, a materials list, what to do before the activity, step-by-step instructions for introducing the activity, questions to use in assessment, and suggestions for additional related activities. The activities themselves are basically structured play with enough variety, fun, and games to keep students and teachers entertained for a long time. There are 150 different activities arranged into ten categories by concepts and type of activity.
