About the Author, Robert Louis Stevenson

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish novelist, poet, and travel writer whose life was haunted by the tuberculosis that would eventually kill him at age 44. His best known works are the classics Treasure Island, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Kidnapped, and A Child's Garden of Verses.
