School Library Journal
Gr 5-7This book is a combination of information about various aspects of space science (astronomy, weather, man's exploration and future in space) and simple experiments relating to each topic. Experiments include a sky clock, a shoe box spectroscope, and a simple accelerometer. The experiments de scribed could be done at home or in the classroom, but are not science fair type projects. Greenleaf's Experiments in Space Science (Arco, 1981; o.p.) and Space Science Projects for Young Sci entists (Watts, 1986) by David W. Mc Kay and Bruce G. Smith are better choices for those seeking science fair ideas. However, they are both written on a higher reading level than this title. The writing style is interesting, the for mat fairly attractive, and the black-and- white diagrams and photographs clear.Nancy B. Kweik, Minneapolis Public LibraryBook Details
