Overview
Examines the degree to which Presidents from Wilson to Carter, 1912-1980, have adhered to their campaign promises in their administrations. By analyzing close to seventy years' worth of campaign literature collected from newspapers, news magazines, and television reports, the author concludes that Presidents have kept approximately three-fourths of their campaign promises while in office. A useful text for students of American government, the Presidency, and contemporary American history.
