Synopsis
Dorey (politics, Cardiff U., UK) describes the way policy is made in Britain. Although he acknowledges that it has some failings, he employs a policy stage heuristic to explain the material in chapters dealing with individual and institutions in the core executive, organized interests and policy networks, Parliament and public policy, the implementation of public policy, and the concept of governance. He concludes with an examination of future trends and trajectories. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
