Overview

The scope of educational relations is in the midst of a major reevaluation. In the 1950s and 1960s, public relations become a recognized part of the academic preparation of school administrators. But application of this discipline today is usually restricted to last minute campaigns to pass referenda or to gain public support for a particular project. Many, if not most, superintendents and principals approach communication passively.
