To make this process simpler, more automated, and effective for command grammars even at initial stages of a project, the Regulus grammar compiler was developed by a consortium of experts—including NASA scientists. Manny Rayner is a researcher at the NASA Ames Research Center, California. Beth Ann Hockey is head of NASA’s Clarissa project, which in June of 2005 became the first spoken dialogue system to be used in space. Pierrette Bouillon is head of the MedSLT medical spoken language translation project at Geneva University.
