Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

Five green eggs sitting in a nest. Mama duck calls because they are starting to crack. Suddenly, it's "crack, crack, crack!" Five ducklings are hatching and they are noisyβ€”"Peep, Peep, Peep!" The little ducks have no problems moving, and soon they are waddling in a row following mama duck wherever she goes. These baby ducklings are able to eat, shake their tails and enjoy a splash in a nearby puddle. Lots of sound words fill the pages of this delightful board book and the little ducklings are amusing to watch as they venture out into the big, wide world. The illustrations are cheerful and offer humor. Kids can count the ducklings and have fun mimicking their actions. An easy and successful transition from picture to board book format.
