Overview

Closing a gap in the current literature by addressing the evaluation and quality assessment of raw data, this practice-oriented guide is clearly divided into three parts. The first describes basic considerations of chromatographic data quality, common errors and potential pitfalls in reading out and quantifying the data. Part two systematically covers the most important chromatographic methods as well as the specific requirements for obtaining good chromatographic data. The final part looks at data quality from the perspective of those regulatory authorities demanding certain standards in data quality, describing in detail best practices.
Written with the practitioner in mind, the text not only teaches the mathematical basics but also provides invaluable advice.

About the Author, Stavros Kromidas

Hans-Joachim has been engaged with the analytical methods of biological materials for over 30 years. Using GC and GCM he has carried out phamakokinetic studies with Catecholamines and their metabolites. He has supervised the psychopharmacological drug analytics with HPLC at the Psychiatric hospital of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich for 20 years. He regularly teaches this topic to students and technicians. He is the author of over 30 publications.

Stavros Kromidas has worked as an independent consultant for analytical chemistry since 2001. For more than 20 years he has regularly held lectures and training courses on HPLC, and has authored numerous articles and several best-selling books on various aspects of chromatography including HPLC, validation and quality in analytical chemistry.

Editorials

From the Publisher

"Written with the practitioner in mind, the text not only teaches the mathematical basics but also provides invaluable advice." (Chemistry Journals, 11 April 2011)

"Quantification in LC and GC: A practical guide to good chromatographic data is a unique book that deals in depth with the integration programs running in modern data processors in chromatographic systems. It provides a systematic understanding of the data processing and evaluation that should be necessary in all laboratories working on quality control and data validation." (Zentralblatt Math, 2010)

"To summarize, this is a valuable book, somewhat spoiled by poor copy editing, I nevertheless recommend it to chromatographers and, indeed, to any serious analyst." (Chromatographia, 1 December 2010)
