Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

The weather fairies are starring again in an easy-to-read story. They have been invited to come to a party for the king and queen and to put on a performance that "comes from the heart." They decide to do a play that features each of their talents, but, of course, one is having problems because she is afraid that she will mess up the dance. The other fairies show their support and love and convince Crystal, the snow fairy that she will do just fine and, of course, she does. Those who have enjoyed the other stories will no doubt want to read this one. It does have a positive message, but tends to be a bit too saccharine for this reviewer. A Level 2 book in the "Scholastic Reader series, 847 words, Guided Reading Level "M" and Lexile 500L. It is appropriate for those learning new vocabulary and more complex sentences. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
