Synopsis

Quiet games, active games, quick games to make rainy days fun!

Children's Literature

One of the great things about this book is that many of the suggested activities require no materials at all, and others require materials that most people already have on hand (a roll of toilet paper, a small block, and masking tape). Divided into categories of "Get Up and Get Moving," "No Materials Needed," and "Relaxing and Calming Activities," each activity is organized around the questions, when, why, what, and what else. The "What Else" section suggests ideas for expanding or varying the activity. This large format (8 x 10) paperback will be useful to parents, day care providers, and teachers of children in grades K-2 who need a source for spur-of-the-moment fun and easy-to-do activities. 2000, Gryphon House, $7.95. Ages Adult. Reviewer: Linnea Hendrickson
