Gr 3-8-- Aimed at browsers and reluctant readers, this attractive series will be a hit with fans of the Guinness Book of World Records . Each slim volume contains facts, records, and trivia presented in short, easily digested, illustrated paragraphs. While there are no indexes, the entries are organized into broad categories. Air , for example, includes sections on weather, flying animals and insects, human flight, and a miscellaneous collection of ``fascinating facts.'' The selections are well chosen--interesting and filled with information. Visually appealing, the pages effectively combine soft, bright acrylics with sharp, clear photos in color and black-and-white. The books are accessible to a much younger audience than either Guinness and its spinoffs or the Ripley's ``Believe It Or Not'' series.
