Overview

Born in Zurich in 1933, René Burri is a photographer whose warmth and egalitarianism as an artist have distinguished him from others and afforded him unrivaled access to the major events and personalities of the last fifty years. A member of the prestigious Magnum photo agency since 1959, Burri is known the world over for his iconic images of Che Guevara and Brasília, as well as Picasso and Le Corbusier.

First achieving international recognition in 1962 with the seminal photography book on post-war Germany, Die Deutschen (The Germans), Burri has since become one of the most important figures in the history of photography, admired and respected by his peers for his sympathetic eye and his ability to capture larger-than-life personalities on film.

There are three different René Burri Photographs Collector's Editions available: Pablo Picasso, Villa la Californie, Cannes, 1957, Men on a Rooftop, S&atildeo Paulo, 1960, and Che Guevara, Havana, 1963. Each specially bound book and box is accompanied by one of the three silver gelatin prints in a signed and numbered edition.
