Overview
This is the third volume of the complete works of Renzo Piano (b. 1937), one of the most acclaimed architects of his generation. Included are detailed presentations of projects in the early 1990s, including the Kansai Airport in Japan from its initial design to the finished building; the Lingotto Factory renovation, Turin; the Cy Twombly Pavilion, Houston, Texas, the L'lle Seguin and Le Grad State, Paris, and many others. There is particular emphasis given to Piano's innovative approach to lighting and curtain-wall construction. An introductory essay, "From Pompidou to Kansai", reviews the full scope of his career. The most recent Renzo Piano Building Workshop projects are also included, which are described and illustrated with photographs and drawings which chart their development through design and construction stages, to completion.
