Synopsis
Defines respect as a character trait and discusses how to show respect at home, with friends, at school, in the community, and toward oneself.
School Library Journal
Gr 3-5-Each title describes and defines its respective character trait and offers suggestions to incorporate the quality at home, in school, and in the community. The didactic texts include far too many sentences with the word "you," telling readers what to do, think, and feel. This tediousness is relieved only by quotes on respect, responsibility, and caring by famous people and posed color photographs depicting diverse groups of children. While adults may find these books useful, most children will not read them on their own.-Pamela K. Bomboy, Chesterfield County Public Schools, VA Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
