Children's Literature -
Each title in the useful "Character Education" series explains a quality as a virtue, discusses how it appears in the family, with friends, at school, or in the community, and presents a well-known figure who exemplifies that quality. Five or six sentences per page give the book a spacious look and multicultural faces appear in the photographs. Rosa Parks demonstrates respect in her choosing to stand for equal rights and a hands-on project asks children to cut pictures of people being respectful out of magazines and explain what each picture shows. Endmatter has "Words to Know" which reviews vocabulary, other information is suggested in a short bibliography and the listing of several websites. An index is also included.Book Details
