Overview
The book is subdivided into three parts, commencing with the basic principles of RISC and some examples of RISC experimental prototypes. In part two, notable, high-performance, commercial RISC-type systems are described including the most important features of each system's architecture, organisation and implementation. Part three is dedicated to the evaluation of the RISC systems already described in the book and to their applications in multiprocessors, workstations and real-time systems. Examples such as CRAY t3D and Silicon Graphics Challenge are given particularly detailed coverage. A selection of problems for students is included towards the rear of the text.Book Details
